The Spires

Appliances Instructions

We ask that you consider your carbon footprint when using appliances. In most of our apartments, we now use energy efficient lightbulbs, which take slightly longer to brighten up.

The dishwasher is in the kitchen in the cupboard next to the sink

We have provided you with some complimentary dishwasher tablets for your arrival to start you off. If you require more, they can be found for purchase at the local Tesco or any other convenience store.

  • Open the dishwasher’s door
  • Turn on by pressing the last button on the left-hand side
  • Select washing mode by pressing one of the 5 buttons in the middle
  • Start the dishwasher by pressing the last button on the right-hand side
  • Close the dishwasher’s door

WASHER/DRYER

The washing machine is in the cupboard next to the dishwasher.

We have provided you with some complimentary washing tablets for your arrival to start you off. If you require more, they can be found for purchase at the local Tesco or any other convenience store.

OVEN/HOB

Oven

The oven is electrical, in order to use it you will need to turn on the large red switch on the wall.

Hob

The hob is an Induction Hob - the pans need to be on the rings for it to give off heat. The pots also have to be iron. Pots and pans are located in your kitchen cupboard.

Please ensure that you keep all doors closed when cooking and make sure that your extractor fan is on. The smoke detectors in the apartments are very sensitive and they have been installed these for your own safety. Please do not tamper with the smoke alarm or remove the batteries.

EXTRACTOR FAN

There is a switch on the wall to turn this on; please keep this on number 3 when doing any cooking. Please also close your kitchen door, and if possible, open a window, as the smoke detectors in your apartment are very sensitive, and may be activated by cooking

BOILERS & RADIATORS

The heating in the apartment is controlled by the thermostat on the wall in the hallway.

Temperature can be changed using the twist dial on each radiator. The heating system operates automatically twice a day from 06:30am till 11:30am and again from 14:30 till 22.00

If the heating schedule is inconvenient for you, kindly contact the Reception, and we will ensure that our team member adjusts the settings to accommodate your needs.

FUSE BOX

The fuse box is in your hall cupboard. In the unlikely event of a power outage, the fuse box can be checked for trips and if required, reset. Caution is advised and if you are unsure, please contact Reception or the Duty Manager.

SHOWERS

The en-suite bathrooms are electric; therefore you will need to switch the red switch outside the bathroom to ‘on’ before using.
